Rush Limbaugh, the sometimes controversial, always outspoken, and noted absolute NFL fanatic, has been removed from the Dave Checketts, owner of the St. Louis Blues, team of investors looking to make a bid to buy the ailing St Louis Rams.
Almost immediately after the announcement was made, by Limbaugh himself on his radio show, that he would be part of the investment group, one of several looking to place a bid for the Rams, he immediately came under fire for supposed racist remarks that he had made.
Where did these remarks come from you might ask? Well, CNN, Huffington Post, and a couple of other “sources” that all sourced it from one man, Jack Huberman and the book he wrote in 2006, “101 People Who Are Really Screwing Up America”. Doesn’t sound at all bias does it? Nah not at all. What it does sound like is absolute frenzied gold to media folk looking to destroy a man. Everyone from Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay to an incendiary barrage from House of Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE! came out to exclaim their disapproval of Limbaugh’s involvement in the deal because of these same racist remarks.
However, here’s the problems my fellow Rams fans, Rush Limbaugh never actually said what he was accused of saying. In fact you can read Rick Sanchez’ half-assed apology and his attempt to say they did a bad job at fact checking. If you’ve spent any time on Twitter recently than you know about CNN and their problems with fact checking. IE they cant fact check statements that someone was a bigot and a racist, but when it comes to Saturday Night Live they’re all over it!
The problem is this shows that anyone now a days can say just about anything about you and it really doesnt matter if its true or not as long as it matches what the main stream media wants to believe about you. The good part from all of this? It’s really taken the focus off of our 0-5 start and our current last place in the NFC west. We might just be playing for draft picks at this point, but at least we have a shot at Tebow!
